Artwork In The Works

Over the past two weeks, I’ve experimented with some different ideas. Mainly, I wanted to incorporate typography and shadowing into my work. Nothing too crazy, but just adding some depth and words to some mandala art.

If you don’t experiment, you don’t learn. So check out these pieces.

I live in the great state of New York. So I found myself thinking in the New York State Of Mind. Check out more on this piece here. In case you missed it, here’s the piece.

I’m not sure if I’m going to continue on with this piece or not. I was thinking of adding a border of zentangle, but I’m not quite there. If you’re wondering why the image appears dark, I have a really good explanation.

I do most of my work at night. My “studio” consists of my computer desk with a desk lamp and the lighting is what it is.

Mandala Artwork With A Touch Of Depth

Obviously, I love the mandala work. There’s so much you can do with a mandala. Lines, shapes, shadows, even drawing an image of something else within it.

The feeling I get from just creating these designs is simply happy.

This piece is about the circles and the shading. Adding depth is really fun. My hope is to make the image “float” in different aspects. Again, everything in monochrome.

Artwork On A Beanie

What I love about the mandala artwork is how universal it is across different mediums. Posters, stickers, canvas. And now….the beanie.

Artwork

I’m not one for fashion. Clothing is just that, clothing. But when I can add some of my artwork to it, the apparel takes on a different level. We live in a great age where the technology allows artists and creatives to make a business from their passion.

The New York piece will sit for a while as I ponder my next steps.

The mandala continues to be a work-in-progress and is growing in detail. Stay tuned.

P.S. You can check out the beanie here.
